Not Dead.......... Yet!

Let's start with my birthday now shall we? The 22nd of January. The day i limped to school, the day Lydia darling surprised me with roses, the day i got to meet my minah after school, the day i got surprised with a cake at NTU's SRC.

Visuals (and plenty more words)!

Instead of going out and celebrating my birthday, i decided to limp to NTU's SRC to watch my girls play captain's ball! Honestly, it didn't seem like such a sad thing to me cos i love sports and being there either playing or watching still makes me very much exhilerated. I had no idea that i was going to be surprised with a cake. REALLY! Absolutely.no.friggin.idea.

Everyone sang happy birthday to me right there between the lovely red rubber track and the netball court. Can i say it's any athelete's dream venue for a birthday surprise? I was so happy!

(I'm sitting in nearly all the pics cos of the ankle.)

I need to thank my little monkey, Val, and Priya for getting me the cake, card and the XL t-shirt that reads "I'm not short, i'm fun-sized!" HAHA. Thanks guysss :D
Thank you to everyone present and who were a part of this.
Love y'all heaps! .bigsmile.

Next up, was my birthday celebration with the girlies! Quite honestly, i was in no mood to celebrate and all i wanted to do was to rest my poor ankle home. So sorry if i seemed somber girls. Ankle was being a bitch.

Yet another surprise at Swensons! Couldn't go to Arab street as planned cos i couldn't walk much. We asked the staff if there were any special birthday offers and the waitress said no cos you could only have that on your birthday or the day before or after. It was 2 days past my birthday so too bad! But, but, BUT............. the sweet management actually surprised me with free ice cream, a balloon bouquet and a song sung by them. So sweet la. 2 surprises! :D

Even the girls were surprised cos they didn't ask for them to do it. Great job to the staff of Swensons at Bugis! :)

My collage :)

And our darling thunder-from-down-under Ain FINALLY got her birthday present from last year! HAHAHA.

All of us girls minus Aileen cos she so graciously volunteered to take the picture for us and also cos i don't have any other group shot!

After 6pm, when Singapore soon started to become a ghost town, my bf picked me up! It was his birthday but he still made time to drive me to A&E for yet another check on my ankle. It was really damn painful that day :( The doctor there was a complete jerk. Changi General Hospital, so can you expect anything less? I wanted another x-ray but immediately he began to talk about the detrimental effect it has on my ovaries and that he's sure i want to start a family. Well thank you very much for being so concerned about my fertility, but i came to you about my ankle and not my God damn ovaries! Dr Mr Gilbert Yeo you should learn some manners before learning medicine pal. Worst Doctor i've come across by far. I'm sure my brother won't ever be such an ass to his patients. Tsk.

Okay, so after that terrible ordeal with did not bring me or my ankle any comfort, it was time for Satheeish's birthday feast!

We drove to some ulu place at Depot Road which is home to a brilliant thai seafood place.

FOOD.

Grilled Red Snapper.

Fire Kangkong! (haha)

Sambal Prawn.

Thai Omelette.

Softshell crab with some buttery garlic sauce.

Satay.

Feast fit for a MY king! :)

Satheeish was soooo excited when he saw all the food, like a kid with candy :D
And he can nicely tell the waitor after ordering the long list of food "oh there'll be more people joining us" cos he was embarssed with being such a pig. HAHAHA. So when the food came the waitor asked "where're your friends?" and he said "oh they not coming already" HAHAHAHAHAHA. Joker.

The next day was Spectra and my team did BRILLIANT!
Okay, you have no idea how many casualties the team's been through. I was basically out cos of my ankle, Ranjani's ankle was a gonner too and Lydia had a knee problem. So we had a team who had never played together before and substitutes who were injured except for Jal! Despite all that, they beat every single team except for two. We narrowly missed getting third but i don't blame them cos our main five players were totally exhausted from playing all the time towards the end. Anyhow, man you should've seen them play. Super fly! :D So darn proud.

There was a giant hippo also playing captain's ball. I won't say from which team. But this girl ah, totally annoying and super bitchy. If she were thrown out of space ah, she'd probably block out most of the sun. Okay, i digress. So anyway, she was super rough! I mean being a rough player doesn't make you any more skillful. And when the umpire asked her to stand at the side for contact, she can still defend la! Irritating. I was so scared for Divya's life because this hippo was throwing her weight around, LITERALLY.

Another thing i hate is when i see girls totally dress up for spectra, complete with make-up, hot pants, tight tops and huge ass shades. You're here to watch or entice the boys ah? Honestly, without fail at every spectra you'll see these girls parading/struting their stuff about. Totally uncool. This one is a sports game la not a modelling contest. There's a place and time to dress up please. Ugh.

Bitchy yes, but i needed to get that out of my system.

Okay, so yesterday i went to Minds Cafe with my boyfriend's friends (MIB)!

Satheeish is totally brilliant at Taboo. I also noticed how both Satheeish and i were the most competitive couple. We totally nailed the couple game. Superb synchronisation. Hehe.
I think i screamed wayyy too much and scared half his friends though. Too hyper. HAHA.

Everyone together! :D

It's gonna be sunday and it's nearly 2 and a half weeks since my ankle accident. How's the progress you ask?

Still swollen as you can see. Picture isn't very clear. The right side of the ankle is better but you can still see the abnormal bump on the left side. Took the picture this afternoon. Doctor said it's probably a hairline fracture since it's taking this long to heal.

You can compare the two ankles. I've only regained like 30% use of the injured one. Still got a long way to go :( I still owe Vv, Bhavani, and Afsheen dates! I hope you guys understand my predicament. When the ankle's better i'll definitely call you guys out. I hate to be out and about dragging a sore and aching ankle. I hope it heals soon so i can resume my usual active lifestyle.

Alrighty, till then,

Bye guys!

Contrast.

3 days to my birthday, another 3 days to my boyfriend's birthday and then another 3 to our 8th month anniversary.

I need to pull myself together.
Carefully thread past that landmine.
Babysteps.

Sometimes i don't know if i can do that anymore.

Have you ever felt unimaginably sad and yet you can't exactly pin point what you are so upset with?
Where people disappoint you and you disappoint them.

Life's hard and all i need is a bit of courage and a lot more love.

Injured.

During captain's ball training, i stepped on someone's shoe, twisted my ankle real bad and now im reduced to hopping around the house with the help of two umbrellas.

Normal ankle.

The sprained one. The swelling looks much worse in real life. It's as if i have a huge tumour protruding from my ankle.

I figure i don't have to elaborate how painful it was.

I have two things to worry about right now.

1. Sports Spectra.
2. My driving test.

I really wish i could bounce right back to my feet and start running like a monkey again, but i think that's going to be a very daunting task for now.

Sigh.
